Meet Catalina Restrepo, Realtor – this week’s featured Woman in Business

Tell us about your business.

Hi, I am Catalina! I’ve spent years buying and selling real estate all around the world! My real estate portfolio is full of multifamily properties. I am part of 10x Global Estates! You may recognize my colleague Elena Cardone! I’ve had massive success in my real estate career, and all of it started with changing my mindset. The skills I used to get where I am today are available to you. I wasn’t born knowing how to do this, I learned, and you can learn too!

Please tell us what being a business owner means to you and why you became an entrepreneur in the first place?

I want to make a significant impact on the world. I take care of other people. I use my free time to support charities. I live a full life but guess what? I would not be able to give back at this level if I didn’t get laser-focused on thinking like an investor. As a mother to a teenager with special needs, I know how important it is to curate a life around people, not money.

What or who has been your greatest influence in business and why? 

As a mother to a son with special needs, I understand life is about more than work. I believe that families need to work smarter, not harder, to provide for their children. Therefore, I passionately educate parents about the importance of investing to increase their free time with their children.

What would you say is your greatest professional accomplishment to date?

My growing real estate team, Commission Multiplier, and the training course House Hacking like an investor. I put my HEART AND SOUL into this course for over a year, perfecting every detail to give students the best experience possible. When you finish, you have all the info you need to take IMMEDIATE. ACTION towards becoming financially free through Multi-Family Real Estate Investing! I gifted this course to agents on my team to know how to guide buyers through purchasing multifamily properties.

What’s the best advice you have received in business that you wish to pass on to our readers?

For many years I heard “it’s all about the money” focus on the money. But after years, I realized it isn’t.

The money is important, I have to be fair, but it’s not all about the money. It is about having a culture with a positive work environment, a merritt based culture with full transparency; by doing that, we have less turnover, mistakes don’t cost you excessively & people that work with me & for me, IS HAPPY AT WORK! So hence we have happy customers.

What have been the most effective marketing initiatives or programs you have used to promote your business?

Building the right relationships is the best form of marketing. I am very intentional about who I add to my network. I am part of 10x Global Estates!

What one thing have you learned as a small business owner that has served you well over the years?

The ability to house hack for the first time & live for free was orgasmic. The realization that I was making money with my investments even when I was off the clock. Having the capacity to better my life & my family’s life simultaneously, I was enhancing my client’s & tenants’ lives. When you go all in, risking it all…When you win, the high is very high after applying risk & succeeding the odds.

Are there any resources or tools you’d like to share with other small business owners that have helped you run your business?

I recommend joining my team, lol.

Do you have any new projects coming up. 

I am happy to celebrate my position as leader of 10x Global Estates. I’ve added over 40 agents to my team in the last 60 days. Next month I am expanding to Europe. I am very passionate about helping agents all over the world.

What do you do for fun/relaxation?

I love spending time with my family, dancing, and listening to music.

What is the Number One Business Goal you plan to accomplish over the next year?

Helping more people understand how to make their money work for them in multifamily property investment. If you are reading this and have an urge to learn more, make sure you reach out. Everything happens for a reason.

You want to write a book on multifamily property investments. For those who don’t know, “House Hacking” is a real estate investment strategy when owning multifamily rental properties. House hacking is when you live in one of the multiple units of your investment property as your primary residence and have renters from the other units pay your mortgage and expenses!

This strategy worked for me, and it WILL work for you, but first, you have to stop thinking like a homeowner and start thinking like an investor!

Working 9-5 WILL NEVER make the financial impact you are looking for. We all know real estate is the best way to develop wealth, but why would you put your life savings into one home that will build equity over YEARS when you could be compounding your return?!

I am driven by a desire to help others foster sustainable lifestyles and build wealth so they can spend time doing what matters most. As an experienced negotiator, I  have designed my own life to reflect my highest values: giving back and time freedom.
